Race | Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon |
Age | Mid-20s |
Gender | Female |
Occupation | Aetherologist / Arcanist |
Location | Frequents La Noscea |
Personality | Candid, studious and arrogant to a fault. After spending a good portion of her life removed from outsiders, Ari tends to come across as too outspoken and coarse in regards to her thoughts and beliefs. She makes up for her lack in social tact with an eagerness to learn however, but keeps her own secrets under lock and key except to those she deems worthy of her loyalty. |
History | True to the secretive nature of most Keepers, not much else is known about Ari except that she went on a pilgrimage away from her clan to broaden her knowledge in aetherology and arcanima. Eventually she decided to permanently plant her roots near the coasts of La Noscea after spending a couple of years between there and the sea, all the while building a humble reputation for herself as a blossoming aetherologist. Her primary focus in her studies is the long-term affects aether can have to a living body. |
potential hooks
Tribal 》Ari comes from a tribal community of Keepers who are currently hiding in the Deep Shroud after being forced out of their home by the Garlean empire. Although she is no longer actively part of the clan, other Keepers might recognize that she still bears the face markings of her people.
Fish Out of Water 》Due to her upbringing spent in isolation, Ari's mannerisms are not considered the most conventional by society's terms. More than once her arrogance has lead her to some interesting encounters...
A Healer's Touch 》Whispered rumors of a blue-haired Keeper lending aid to adventurers in the dead of night has circulated around La Noscea a few times over the passing years. She has even served on a ship as its official healer for a time.
Primal 》Ari has a profound interest in primals and eikons, but due to the precarious nature of the topic she has yet to seriously follow through with her studies beyond books. She would be eager to meet an expert or fellow scientist on the subject!
Aether Sensitive 》Ari can sense unusual fluctuations with aether patterns like a bloodhound. Likewise she seems to harbor her own issues; the aether which permeates her being appears divided and chaotic, causing the air surrounding her to be warmer.

the ashen glow
An enigmatic society of Keepers who took refuge within the deepest forests of the Black Shroud after being forced out from their homeland. Due to their nomadic nature, they are rarely found to stay in one place in the forest for too long, and are continually followed by a thick mist that surrounds their location. Rumor has it that the mist is a conjured presence by the matriarch herself, intended to shield them from outsiders and even from the eyes of the Elementals. Only those who are invited can navigate the fog and find where the clan resides, while those uninvited seldom find their way back.
The clan's name is attributed to its very first matriarch. Their numbers have dwindled over generations, reduced now to only a small group of families after a tumultuous confrontation with the Garlean Empire and the unavoidable catastrophe of the Calamity. Today they work to grow their numbers and survive, allowing a few of their wandering males to remain within the boundary of the clan for protection. Each family has assigned a chosen "voice" which serves as the clan's council structure, mostly comprised of its elders and their appointed Seer.
Many of the clan's traditions are steeped in ancient rituals and ceremonies to pay homage to the goddess, Menphina, while pledging their males to follow the path of her lover, Oschon. Although new practices have been adopted over the years, by and large the clan still follows the roots of their old rites to preserve the memory of their ancestors, viewing newer ceremony as an acceptable level of progressism. Those who develop a knack for aether manipulation are especially held in the highest reverence, considering these individuals blessed from the goddess herself.

As a player I am looking to expand Ari's story with other characters and fellow roleplayers from all walks of life. Feel free to contact me for plots and new ideas; I love meeting new people!
I prefer long-term storytelling, but sometimes it does not always work out that way and that is fine. I only ask to be talked to first before anything controversial enters the roleplay.
My timezone is PST (Pacific Standard Time)! Due to the taxing nature of my job, my online times can vary. Please be patient.
